Unifi Access Point


The Challenge

Vision Composites required a robust and reliable wireless network to support daily business operations across multiple areas of their premises.


Key challenges included:


  • Inconsistent Wi-Fi coverage between rooms

  • Physical installation constraints

  • Seamless Roaming

  • Wi-Fi segregation

  • Increasing demand for high-speed, stable connectivity


The client needed a solution that would work within these constraints while providing long-term performance and scalability.


The Solution

We designed and deployed an enterprise-grade network using Ubiquiti UniFi, incorporating the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology for future-ready performance.


The solution included:

  • Wi-Fi 7 access points for improved speed, lower latency, and better handling of multiple devices

  • Strategic ceiling-mounted placement to maximise coverage despite cabling limitations

  • A PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) switch, removing the need for separate power supplies and simplifying installation

  • A dedicated UniFi controller for centralised management

  • UniFi Site Manager for secure remote access, monitoring, and ongoing support

  • Additional cooling for UniFi controller


The system was installed in phases, allowing real-world performance testing and optimisation without unnecessary cost.


Smart Monitoring & Support

A key part of the solution is proactive monitoring and remote support.


Using UniFi’s management platform, we can:

  • Monitor device performance, signal strength, and connection quality

  • Identify issues such as low-speed Ethernet links (e.g. 100 Mbps limitations)

  • Troubleshoot client-specific issues without needing to attend site

  • Optimise the network automatically (scheduled daily optimisation)

For example, when intermittent buffering was reported on a UHD TV service, remote diagnostics confirmed:

  • Strong Wi-Fi signal and high connection speeds

  • Minimal packet retries (indicating a healthy wireless connection)

This allowed the issue to be isolated to device or connection limitations rather than the network itself—saving time and unnecessary changes.


The Result

The upgraded network delivered:

  • Consistent, high-speed Wi-Fi coverage across all areas

  • Improved performance for high-bandwidth applications (including UHD streaming)

  • Seamless roaming between access points

  • Reduced cabling complexity through PoE deployment

  • Ongoing visibility and control via remote monitoring


Future-Ready Infrastructure

The solution provides a scalable platform that can grow with the business, including:

  • Additional access points if required

  • Integration with CCTV and security systems

  • Remote access and cloud-managed services

  • Incremental upgrades without full system replacement

Overview

Intertech Waste Consultancy required a modern, secure, and flexible IT environment to replace their existing setup based on Wix email and Google Workspace. The objective was to simplify IT management, improve security, and allow users to work from any device while keeping costs predictable.


Solution

A full Microsoft 365 cloud environment was implemented, including secure identity management, cloud desktops, and collaborative file storage.


Key technologies deployed included:

  • Microsoft 365 Business Standard for email, collaboration, and productivity

  • Exchange Online for business email and calendar

  • Windows 365 Cloud PCs allowing users to securely access their desktop from any device

  • SharePoint Online for centralised file storage and collaboration

  • Microsoft Teams for shared calendars and team file access

  • Microsoft Entra Security Defaults to enforce multi-factor authentication and protect accounts


The project included the migration of existing email data from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365, ensuring continuity of historical email, contacts, and calendars.


Implementation

The environment was designed and deployed with minimal disruption to users. Cloud PCs were configured to allow staff to securely access their desktop and files from laptops and tablets using the Windows App. Mobile access was also configured through the Microsoft Outlook app.


Security was a key focus, with multi-factor authentication and self-service password reset enabled to protect user accounts and reduce support overhead.


Outcome

The result is a fully cloud-based IT environment that provides:

  • Secure access to business systems from any location

  • Centralised document storage and collaboration

  • Simplified IT administration and billing

  • Improved security through modern identity protection

  • Scalable infrastructure that can grow with the business


The transition from the previous system was completed smoothly with minimal downtime and no loss of data.
